Today, let's pause and have a check up! How is your attitude? Attitude
is so crucial to our day. It is also something that is an inward
change and doesn't depend on your outer environment. I have just sat
through a trying phonics lesson with my 5 year old. I was getting
really frustrated and the Holy Spirit quickened me and I changed my
attitude toward the class. Grace had done really well, and I was
pushing her to move along to the next step. She, on the other hand,
could barely keep her eyes open. I congratulated her on how well she
did and now she is lying on the couch, looking out the window and
resting. Changing our attitudes requires a choice on our part. The
Word tells us "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever
is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think
about such things." How often I slip into thinking about the opposite
of the above. How many times I have listened to Satan's little lies he
whispers in my ear and let my mind run rampant. All I really need to do
is say the name "Jesus" and look around me at my beautiful home, my
great children, and listen to the sounds of nature to get my attitude
focused on the things of God and not the things of this earth. I am
sitting now at the bar in the kitchen and I can see on my wall "Christ,
The Center of Our Home", a beautiful quilt I have hanging that says "Be
Still and Know that I am God" made by the most kind and gentle spirited
woman I have ever met, my grandmother's picture of the Last Supper to
remind me of what Jesus did because He loves me and a plaque my
daughter, Jessica, gave me that says "Amazing Grace" to remind me of my
precious miracle girl, Gracie, and how God's Grace is sufficient for
every moment in every day! Fill your surroundings with reminders of how
blessed and wonderful you are to your Creator. Rest in the protection
of His wings and find peace and refreshing!
